Frequently asked questions

What text should I use?

DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, SAMPLE, INTERNAL USE ONLY and company names are the most common, but any short phrase works.

Which placement is hardest to remove?

Tiled. Because the text repeats across the whole page, cropping or covering it is impractical.

Will the watermark obscure my content?

Not at the default 18% opacity. Lower it further for dense pages or raise it when the stamp must dominate.

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

Yes. The watermark is drawn on top of the page, so scans and image-only PDFs are stamped just the same.

Can I remove the watermark later?

Not from the exported file. Keep your unwatermarked original if you may need a clean copy.

Does watermarking change file size?

Only marginally — text takes up a tiny amount of space compared with the page content.

Can I use non-English characters?

Standard Latin characters are fully supported. Very unusual scripts may not render in the built-in font.
