Page numbers turn a stack of pages into a document people can navigate, cite and discuss. Merged reports, scanned bundles, court exhibits, dissertations and printed handbooks all need them, yet most PDFs arrive without any. PDFCreature adds real, searchable numbers in the position and style you choose, with a configurable starting value so a chapter can continue from where the previous one ended.

Frequently asked questions
Can I number a merged document?
Yes — merge the files first, then number the combined PDF so the sequence runs continuously.
What if my PDF already has numbers?
The new numbers are drawn on top. Choose a different position or margin so the two do not overlap.
Can I use Roman numerals?
Not currently. The available formats are digit-based, which suits the vast majority of business and academic documents.
Does numbering affect the page content?
No. Existing text, images and vectors are untouched — the number is simply drawn into the margin.
How big a document can I number?
Files up to 650 MB, with no limit on the number of pages.
Will the numbers print correctly?
Yes, as long as your printer is not set to shrink the page. The default 28 pt margin sits inside almost every printable area.
Can I change the colour?
Numbers use a neutral dark grey that reads well on white and light backgrounds without dominating the page.
Is my file kept anywhere?
No. The document is processed on your own device and nothing is transmitted or stored.
